For 1990-2009 cars only
    • The column must be in the 12 o'clock position.

       Important: To align the steering shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position. Turn the key to the off/lock position. Pull the key out and turn the steering shaft untill you hear a click.

  • Reconnect the dimmer switch assembly (5) to the bulk head connector.
  •    • 
  • Install the dimmer switch assembly (5) to the ignition switch assembly (1).
  •    • 
  • Install the hexagon nut (2) onto the ignition switch assembly (1).
  • Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

       • 
  • Install the torx washer head screw (3).
  • Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

       • 
  • Install the dimmer switch rod (4) into the dimmer switch assembly (5).
  •    •

  • Put the wire harness assembly into the wire harness strap (1).
  • Important: Turn the key to the on position to unlock the steering shaft.

       • 
  • Remove the column from the J 41352 .
