Column Holding Fixture
• | The column must be in the 12 o'clock position. |
| Important: To align the steering shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position.
Turn the key to the off/lock position. Pull the key out and turn the steering
shaft untill you hear a click.

Install the electrical
BTSI actuactor (3) on to the steering column lower support (2)
and the shift tube (1). |

Adjust the electrical
BTSI actuator. |
0.1. | Pull the tab (1) out on the block side (2) of the
electrical BTSI actuator. |
0.2. | Press on the adjuster block (2) to compress the internal
adjuster spring to disengage the adjuster teeth. Slide the adjuster block
as far away from the solenoid as possible. |
0.3. | Lock in place by pushing the tab (1) back in. |
0.1. | Inspect the electrical BTSI actuator. |
0.2. | The electrical BTSI actuator must lock the gear shift lever when
it is put into the park position. |
0.3. | When the column is installed in the vehicle you will not be able
to shift the gear lever out of the park position without pressing on the brake
pedal. The solenoid will be energized. |

Put the wire harness assembly
into the
wire harness strap (1).
Important: Turn the key to the on position to unlock the steering shaft.
