  1. Verify that the temperature outside the vehicle is warmer than 8°C (48°F).
  2. Verify that the engine is warm and is running at idle.
  3. Set the air delivery mode:
  4. • Buick: PASS ZONE
    • Oldsmobile: PASS TEMP
  5. Set the temperature on the main control assembly to 30°C (85°F).
  6. Set the temperature on the passenger temperature control to the MAX COLD position.
  7. Compare the temperatures between the left center outlet and the right center outlet.

Is the right center outlet air cooler than the left center outlet by the specified temperature range?

4.5-6°C (8-11°F)

  1. Set the temperature on the main control assembly to 18°C (65°F).
  2. Set the temperature on the passenger temperature control to the MAX HEAT position.
  3. Compare the temperatures between the left center outlet and the right center outlet.

Is the right center outlet air warmer than the left center outlet by the specified temperature range?

4.5-6°C (8-11°F)

Examine the door actuator for the following conditions:

    • Proper mounting
    • Broken components
    • Missing or non-attached linkage rods

Repair the door actuator as necessary.
