Power Seat Does Not Tilt Rearward LH AG1

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Backprobe the LH seat switch connector with a DMM from cavity P (Oldsmobile), C (Buick), or A (Pontiac) to ground.
  3. Move the rear vertical switch up.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 4

Replace the left seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Backprobe the LH seat switch connector with a DMM from cavity N (Oldsmobile) or B (Buick/Pontiac) to ground.
  2. Move the rear vertical switch up.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Backprobe the LH seat rear vertical motor with a DMM from cavity A (YEL) to ground.
  2. Move the rear vertical switch up.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15V

  1. Backprobe the LH seat rear vertical motor with a DMM from cavity B (LT BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the rear vertical switch up.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

Repair the open in CKT 282 (YEL) between the LH seat switch and the LH seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 283 (LT BLU) between the LH seat switch and the LH seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Backprobe the RH seat rear vertical motor with a DMM from cavity A (YEL) to ground.
  2. Move the rear vertical switch up.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

  1. Backprobe the RH seat rear vertical motor with a DMM from cavity B (LT BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the rear vertical switch down.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

Repair the open in CKT 288 (YEL) between the RH seat switch and the RH seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 289 (LT BLU) between the RH seat switch and the RH seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the seat control module connector C2.
  2. Briefly connect a fused jumper from the seat control module connector C2 cavity C (YEL) to ground.

Does the rear of the seat tilt up with fused jumper connected?

Briefly connect a fused jumper from the seat control module connector C2 cavity D (LT BLU) to ground.

Does the rear of the seat tilt down with the fused jumper connected?

  1. Reconnect the seat control module connector C2.
  2. Disconnect the seat control module LH connector C3 or RH connector C4.
  3. Connect a DMM from the seat control module LH connector C3 or the RH connector C4 cavity B (LT BLU) to ground.
  4. Move the rear vertical switch up.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the seat control module.

Inspect for an open in the LH CKT 283 (LT BLU) or the RH CKT 289 (LT BLU) between the seat control module and the seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 283 or CKT 289 OK?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for an open in the LH CKT 1246 (DK GRN) or the RH CKT 1247 (DK GRN) between the seat rear vertical motor and S363. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 1246 or CKT 1247 OK?

Replace the seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement .

Inspect for an open in CKT 1519 (YEL) between the seat control module and the console seat switch. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 1519 OK?

Inspect for an open in CKT 1521 (LT BLU) between the seat control module and the console seat switch. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 1521 OK?
