SERV. MAN. UPDATE-SEC 8A-145 LUMBAR SUPPORT WIRE INSULATION

SUBJECT: SECTION 8A-145 LUMBAR SUPPORT WIRE INSULATION COLORS

MODELS/YEARS: 1991-93 NINETY EIGHT

The 1991-93 Ninety Eight Service Manual, Section 8A, cell 145 Touring Sedan Lumbar Support contains information that could cause confusion.

The wire insulation colors shown in the wiring diagrams do not pertain to the wire pigtails that extend from the wire console seat switch. The console seat switch wire pigtail insulation colors are not given because they may vary. The wire insulation colors given in Test A: Console Seat Switch Voltage Test, are the colors of the insulation on the wires in the harness not the switch pigtails.

Also, the location of connectors C1 and C2 are not given in cell 145.

The most accurate way to identify these two connectors is by the wire insulation colors of the wires that terminate in these connectors.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
