Some of the above vehicles may experience a shudder or pulsation vibration when the service brake is applied. This is commonly referred to as "brake pulsation", and generally results from uneven wear of the brake rotors. Uneven rotor wear could be caused by high lateral slide forces of the brake calipers.
The caliper slide force may be reduced by replacing the current slide pins with new reduced diameter pins.
Whenever the caliper mounting bolts are serviced, the caliper mount bolt holes must be thoroughly cleaned and the area between the mount bolt bushings must be packed with silicone grease, part number 12345579 or equivalent.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
