1984 LABOR TIME GUIDE REVISION

MODELS/YEARS ALL 1984 MODELS AND 1985 NINETY-EIGHT

The following changes have been made since the release of the March 1984 revision to the 1984 Labor Time Guide Microfiche:

A new policy code has been added to the Foreword. Policy "C" covers the corrosion perforation repair section (S5050 through S5590) of the manual. All operations in the section are policy code "C". These operations do not require authorization. Refer to the Policies and Procedures manual for more information concerning this policy code.

Ref. Number A-19 and A-20:

In operation A0347 (Color Coat Hood Panel), the 1985 "C" Series should be 1.4 hours with GO material allowance. In operation A0357 (Refinish Hood Panel), the 1985 "C" Series should be 1.9 hours with GT material allowance. The additive for clear coat should be .2 of an hour with CJ material allowance.

Ref. Number E-10:

In operation numbers D1430 and D1432, the major operation title should be "Duct Assembly, Defroster - Replace" and not "R&R or Replace."

Ref. Number G-20:

In opwation J0850 (Camshaft Replace), the "A" Series with V-6 gasoline engine should have .4 of an hour for air conditioning and not .3 of an hour.

Ref. Number H-9:

In operations J0580 through J0587 (Push Rod Replace), the additive for A.I.R. applies to right bank (JO580) or both banks (JO587).

Ref. Number I-1:

In operation J4080 (Generator Assembly Disassemble, Inspect, Test and Reassemble), the qualifiers should read: 4-cyl, V-6 gasoline, V-8 and diesel (exc. V-6 electronic emissions) and V-6 electronic emissions. The 1985 "C" Series uses electronic emissions on all vehicles equipped with V-6 diesel engine, whereas, the 1984 "A" Series equipped with V-6 diesel has electronic emissions in California only.

Ref. Number K-11:

In operation L1200 (Fuel Gage and/or "O" Ring Replace), the additive for transferring electric fuel pump should also apply to the new MFI ngine (VIN Code 3).

THE REMAINING CHANGES ARE IN RESPONSE TO DEALER'S REQUEST FOR REVIEW.

Ref. Number K-15:

In operation N0590 (Heater or A/C Control Bulb), the "J" Series should be .3 of an hour and not .2 of an hour.

Ref. Number K-23:

In operation N3700 (Water Hoses and/or Nozzles Replace), the "E" Series should be .4 of an hour and not .2 of an hour.

THE FOLLOWING CHANGES APPLY TO THE 1984 "G" SERIES HURST/OLDS ONLY.

Ref. Number B-12:

Operation A4300 Front Bumper Decal Stripe has been added for .5 of an hour.

Ref. Number B-13:

Operation A4800 Rear Bumper Decal Stripe has been added for .5 of an hour.

Ref. Number B-21:

Operation B0508 (One Piece Front Bumper Filler Replace) now has a .3 of an hour additive to replace the decal stripe.

Ref. Number B-24:

Operation B1108 (One Piece Rear Bumper Filler Replace) now has a .3 of an hour additive to replace the decal stripe.
