Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Removal
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper. Refer
to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement
in Disc Brakes.
- Remove the brake rotor.
- Remove the front wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Front
.
- Disconnect the lower control arm ball stud from the steering knuckle.

- Disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Refer
to Tie Rod End Replacement - Outer
in Power Steering System.
- Make a mark on the steering knuckle in order to record the orientation
the strut to the knuckle. Refer to
Strut Assembly Replacement
- Remove the steering knuckle from the strut. Refer to
Strut Assembly Replacement
- Remove the steering knuckle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the steering knuckle over the drive axle.
- Install the steering knuckle to the strut. Refer to
Strut Assembly Replacement
.
- Install the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Refer to Tie Rod End Replacement - Outer
in Power Steering System.
- Install the lower control arm ball stud to the steering knuckle.

- Install the front wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Front
.
- Install the brake rotor.
- Install the brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper. Refer
to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement
in Disc Brakes.
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
