Notice: Proper stoplamp switch adjustment is essential. Improper stoplamp switch
adjustment may cause brake drag, heat buildup and excessive brake lining wear.
Important:
• | Adjust the stoplamp switch and cruise control release at the same
time. The adjustment procedures for these switches are identical. |
• | For cruise control release switch adjustment, refer to Cruise

- With the brake pedal fully released, ensure that the stoplamp
plunger is fully depressed against the brake pedal shanks.
- Insert the stoplamp switch
(1) and the cruise control switch (3) (if equipped) into the brake pedal
bracket (2).
- Push the brake pedal forward
in order to set the brake push rod into the booster.
- Pull the brake pedal to
the rear, against the internal stop. The stoplamp switch and cruise control
switch will be adjusted.
- Inspect the stoplamp switch for proper adjustment. In order to
