  1. Place the key in the ignition.
  2. Set the ignition switch in the LOCK position.
  3. Open and close the driver door.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  5. Open and close the driver door.

You will hear the reminder that the key is in the ignition when the following conditions are met:

    • The driver door is open
    • The key is fully inserted in the ignition chamber
    • The ignition switch is in one of the following positions:
       - LOCK
       - OFF
       - ACC

  1. Release or unfasten the driver seat belt.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK to the RUN position for 7 seconds.
  3. Fasten the driver seat belt.
  4. Again turn the ignition switch from the LOCK to the RUN position.
    • If the driver seat belt is unfastened, the reminder to fasten the seat belt sounds for approximately 6 seconds when you turn the ignition switch from the LOCK position or from the OFF position to the RUN position.
    • If the driver seat belt is fastened, the reminder to fasten the seat belt does not sound when you turn the ignition switch from the LOCK position or from the OFF position to the RUN position.

  1. Release or unfasten the driver seat belt.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK to the RUN position for 77 seconds.
  3. Fasten the driver seat belt.
  4. Again turn the ignition switch from the LOCK to the RUN position.
    • If the driver seat belt is unfastened, the indicator lamp is lit for 63-77 seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
    • If the driver seat belt is fastened, the indicator lamp does not light when you turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

  1. Test drive the vehicle for at least 1.2 km (¾ mi) with the turn signal switch turned ON (either to the left turn position or to the right turn position).
  2. Move the turn signal switch to the OFF position.

The turn signal reminder sounds once for each flash of the turn signal lamps when all of the following conditions are met:

    • The turn signal switch is turned to the ON position (either to the left turn position or to the right turn position)
    • The vehicle has traveled a distance of 1.2 km (¾ mi).

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.
  2. Remove the key from the ignition cylinder.
  3. Open and close the driver door.
  4. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position or to the HEAD position.
  5. Open and close the driver door.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  7. Again, open the driver door, then close the driver door.
  8. Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.

You will hear the reminder that the headlamps are turned on when all of the following conditions are met:

    • The driver door is open.
    • The headlamp switch is in either the PARK position or the HEAD position
    • The key is removed from the ignition switch.
