Removal Procedure

The radiator support flange (1) mounts the ambient outside air temperature sensor near the radiator baffle. A 2-wire weather pack electrical connector attaches the ambient outside air temperature sensor to the forward lamp harness (2). In order to service the ambient outside air temperature sensor, perform the following steps:

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Open the hood.

  3. Object Number: 318183 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the outside ambient air temperature sensor.
  5. Remove the outside ambient air temperature sensor to radiator support bolt.
  6. Remove the outside ambient air temperature sensor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 318183 Size: SH
  1. Install the outside ambient air temperature sensor to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the outside ambient air temperature sensor to radiator support bolt.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the outside ambient air temperature sensor.
