For 1990-2009 cars only

Use the following procedure in order to repair frozen lock cylinders that are frozen due to cold weather.

  1. Apply heat to the cylinder area with a heat gun.
  2. Hold the shutter open with a paper clip or a similar item and force air into the cylinder.
  3. Use compressed air and a blow gun attachment.

  4. Hold the shutter open and inject a small amount of Super-Lube® GM P/N 12346241 or equivalent.
  5. Work the key into the cylinder several times.
  6. Wipe any excess lubricant from the key.
