J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the left wiper arm linkage nuts.
  3. Reposition the left wiper arm linkage for access.

  4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
  5. Remove the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls -3.4L.
  6. Important: Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables to prevent bending the cable housings.

  7. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting bracket.
  8. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to Transmission Fluid Filler Tube Replacement in Automatic Transaxle.

  9. Object Number: 395311  Size: SH
  10. Release the quick connect.
  11. Disconnect the inlet heater hose (1) from the inlet pipe (2).

  12. Disconnect the heater hose clamp using the J 38185 .
  13. Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.
  14. Remove the inlet heater hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inlet heater hose.

  2. Object Number: 392563  Size: SH
  3. Connect the inlet heater hose to the heater core.
  4. Position the heater hose clamp using the J 38185 .
  5. Position the hose clamp as indicated.

  6. Connect the inlet heater hose to the inlet pipe.
  7. Install the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to Transmission Fluid Filler Tube Replacement in Automatic Transaxle.
  8. Connect the throttle and cruise control cables to the TBI mounting bracket.
  9. Install the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls -3.4L.
  10. Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster .
  11. Install the left wiper arm linkage.
  12. Install the left wiper arm linkage nuts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  14. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
