Installation Procedure
- Install new HVAC module assembly to body seals.
- Install the HVAC module
assembly to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the HVAC module assembly mounting bolts and the nut.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts and the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the auxiliary temperature actuator electrical connector.
- Connect the electrical connector to the auxiliary blower motor
resistor.
- Connect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
- Connect the auxiliary TXV solenoid electrical connector.
- Connect the auxiliary air distribution duct to the HVAC module
assembly .
- Install the auxiliary air distribution duct mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Connect the auxiliary
heater hoses to the heater core pipes.
- Remove the cap or tape from the A/C lines.
- Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing
surfaces of the A/C lines.
Important: Flat washer type seals do not require lubrication.
- Slide the new sealing washers onto the A/C line until seated.
- Install the auxiliary
A/C line block fitting bolt.
