Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
- Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the discharge line
to condenser nut.
- Disconnect the discharge line from the condenser.
- Remove the discharge line
to compressor nut.
- Disconnect the discharge line from the compressor.
- Remove the discharge line.
- Discard the O-ring seal and sealing washer.
Installation Procedure
- Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing
surfaces of the A/C refrigerant hose and the A/C refrigerant component.
Important: Flat washer type seals do not require lubrication.
- Carefully slide the new sealing washer onto the discharge line until
seated.
- Install the discharge line.
- Connect the discharge
line to the compressor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the discharge line to compressor nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install a new seal washer to the discharge line.
