- Install the adjuster to
the seat frame.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the seat
adjuster bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Route the 6-way power
seat electrical harness to the adjuster assembly.
- Secure with the cable straps.
- Route the seat belt warning lamp wire to the rear of the lift
linkage.
- Secure with the cable strap to the seat frame.
- Install the seat belt buckle with pretensioner. Refer to
Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side
or
Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side
in SIR.
- Install the finish covers. Refer to
Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement
.
- Install the front seat. Refer to
Bucket Seat Replacement
.
- Inspect the adjusters.
If the adjusters are out of phase (one adjuster reaches its maximum
horizontal or vertical travel in a given direction before the other adjuster)
phase the adjusters as follows:
10.1.1. | Operate the seat control switch until 1 adjuster reaches a full-forward
position. |
10.1.2. | Detach the horizontal drive cable from the adjuster which has
reached a full-forward position. |
10.1.3. | Operate the seat forward until the other adjuster reaches a full-foward
position. |
10.1.4. | Connect the horizontal drive cable. |
10.1.5. | Inspect the horizontal travel of the seat. |
10.2. | Front or rear vertical travel |
10.2.1. | Operate the seat control switch until one adjuster has reached
a fully raised position at both the front and the rear vertical travel limits. |
10.2.2. | Disconnect both of the vertical drive cables from the adjuster
which has reached the fully raised position. |
10.2.3. | Operate the seat control switch until the other adjuster reaches
the fully raised position at both of the front and the rear vertical limits. |
10.2.4. | Connect the previously removed front and rear vertical drive cables. |
10.2.5. | Inspect the vertical travel by operating the adjusters through
1 or 2 complete cycles. |
The above operation may be repeated on a "as required basis,"
if the adjusters do not appear to be in phase after the test cycle.
