Starting June 21, 2004, and for the next 90 days, General Motors will conduct a parts restriction on all 2001-2004 Venture/Montana/Silhouette and 2001-2004 Aztek/Rendezvous front wheel drive vehicles only.
Warranty parts returns have revealed a significant amount of misdiagnosis being performed and that procedures provided in Corporate Bulletin Number 03-06-05-003 are not being fully utilized. Returned parts indicate that the catalytic converter should not be replaced for the pop and/or rattle in the exhaust down pipe. Our experience shows that following the bulletin and using the clamp on the down pipe corrects the noise.
