DTC Descriptor
DTC P0219: Engine OverspeedDescription
Important: This DTC is used for information only. This DTC does NOT indicate there is a condition with the crank sensor or the engine control module (ECM).
This DTC is used to indicate that the engine speed exceeded the fuel cutoff limit in gear. This DTC may set if the transmission is placed in a low gear while driving down a steep grade or traveling at a high speed.
Conditions for Running the DTC
| • | The engine is running. |
| • | The DTC runs continuously once the above condition is met. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The ECM detects the engine speed is greater than 7,000 RPM for greater than 1 second.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC P0219 is a Type C DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P0219 is a Type C DTC.
