Removal Procedure
- Remove the brake fluid reservoir-to-master cylinder pins and remove the reservoir from the master cylinder.
- Remove the brake pipe fittings from the master cylinder.
- Plug the brake pipe openings and the brake fluid reservoir to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the master cylinder-to-brake booster nuts.
- Remove the master cylinder and drain the brake fluid.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the master cylinder to the brake booster.
Tighten
Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).
- Unplug all the openings.
- Install the brake pipe fittings to the master cylinder.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install the brake pipe fluid reservoir-to-master cylinder pins.
- Add the brake fluid.
- Check for leaks.
- Recheck the fluid level.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to
