Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1764662  Size: SH
  1. Remove the clip on the vacuum hose connection at the brake booster.
  2. Remove the hose from the brake booster.

  3. Object Number: 1764663  Size: SH
  4. Remove the clip on the vacuum hose connection at the intake manifold.
  5. Remove the vacuum hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1764663  Size: SH
  1. Install the vacuum hose to the vacuum hose connection at the intake manifold.
  2. Install the vacuum hose clip.

  3. Object Number: 1764662  Size: SH
  4. Install the vacuum hose to the booster.
  5. Install the vacuum hose clip.
  6. With the engine OFF, eliminate vacuum in the booster by pumping the brake pedal several times.
  7. Maintain moderate pressure on the brake pedal and start the engine.
  8. Observe the operation of the brake pedal.

    The brake assist system is functioning properly if the pedal drops slightly because the booster increases the force on the master cylinder pushrod.
