Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1760755  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the nut at the compressor hose connecting block.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the pressure transducer.

  6. Remove the nut at the condenser connecting block.
  7. Remove the high-pressure pipe-to-condenser retaining nut.

  8. Object Number: 1760750  Size: SH
  9. Remove the high-pressure pipe-to-evaporator flange connecting block retaining nut.

  10. Object Number: 1760757  Size: SH
  11. Remove the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  12. Remove the ECM bracket mounting nuts.
  13. Remove the bolt and the nut which secure the clamps that hold the high pressure pipe to the vehicle.
  14. Remove the high-pressure pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1760757  Size: SH
  1. Position the high-pressure pipe into the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the ECM bracket mounting nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ECM bracket mounting nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  5. Install a new O-ring on the pipe at the condenser.
  6. Install the high-pressure pipe-to-condenser connecting block nut.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the high-pressure pipe-to-condenser connecting block nut to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  8. Install the nut at the condenser connecting block.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the condenser connecting block nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  10. Install the high-pressure pipe-to-evaporator flange connecting block retaining nut.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the high-pressure pipe-to-evaporator flange connecting block retaining nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  12. Install the nut at the compressor hose connecting block.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the compressor hose connecting block nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  14. Install the bolt and the nut which secure the clamp that hold the high pressure pipe to the vehicle.
  15. Connect the electrical connector to the pressure transducer.
  16. Install the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
