Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material
glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace
the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
Removal Procedure
- Remove the folding top cover. Refer to
Folding Top Cover Replacement
.
- Drill out the rivets as follows:
2.1. | Rear rail seal retainer support panel, 4 rivets per side (2). |
2.2. | Number 4 bow, one rivet per side (3). |
- Remove the rivet from the balance link, one per side (1).
- Remove the headliner screws from the number 1 bow.
- Disengage the J-hooks from the number 3 and 4 bows of the headliner.
- Remove the plastic retainer to the number 4 bow.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the headliner screws to the number 1 bow.
Tighten
Tighten the headliner screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the rivet to the balance link, one per side (1).
- Install the rivets as follows:
3.1. | Rear rail seal retainer support panel, 4 rivets per side (2). |
3.2. | Number 4 bow, one rivet per side (3). |
- Engage the J-hook to the number 3 and 4 bows to the headliner.
- Install the folding top cover. Refer to
Folding Top Cover Replacement
