The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A software concern has been identified that could cause some Body Control Module (BCM) functions to become inoperative after a BCM replacement for a different reason.

Chevrolet HHR (Panel Van) Only:

The rear panel/cargo doors become inoperative "electronically" from the dash switches and the key fobs. The doors will still open from the manual inside door handles. The Air Conditioning also becomes inoperative.

Chevrolet HHR (NON-Panel), Daewoo G2x, Opel GT, and Saturn Sky The Air Conditioning becomes inoperative.

If you have just the Air Conditioning inoperative it's important to know the BCM has disabled the A/C software in the ECM and the BCM. The BCM tells the ECM that the vehicle does not have A/C, so the ECM configures A/C off and doesn't execute the A/C software.

The PCM will disable the functionality software which is reflected by the pressure sensor data of 0 psi & 0 volts in the PCM datalist.

If you mistakenly used Tech-2 s/w version 28.001 or previous, on the initial NEW BCM setup the A/C option cannot be corrected. It will be necessary to call the Techline Support center for a VCI number at 1-800-828-6860.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
