DTC Descriptor

DTC P161C 00: Tire Size Not Programmed

Circuit/System Description

This diagnostic addresses if the engine control module (ECM) is not programmed with the tire size.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The ignition is ON.
    • The DTC runs continuously once the above condition is met.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ECM detects that the tire size is not programmed in the EEPROM for more than 1 s.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTC P161C is a Type A DTC.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTC P161C is a Type A DTC.

Circuit/System Testing

Program the ECM. If DTC P161C sets after programming, perform the following steps:

    • Ensure that all tool connections are secure.
    • Ensure the programming equipment is operating correctly.
    • Ensure the correct software and the correct calibration is used.
    • Attempt to program the K20 Engine Control Module (ECM).
       ⇒If DTC P161C sets, replace the K20 Engine Control Module (ECM).
