The turbocharger vane position sensor is mounted on the turbo charger vacuum actuator. A 5-V reference voltage and a low reference is supplied to the turbocharger vane position sensor. The sensor provides a signal to the engine control module (ECM) with the actual turbocharger control rod position.
The ignition is ON or engine is running.
The ECM detects a short to ground or a short to Voltage for more than 1 s.
DTCs P2564 and P2565 are Type A DTCs

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor. The reading should be between 0.5-4.5 V and change with.
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module (ECM). |
⇒ | If less than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module (ECM). |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module (ECM). |
⇒ | If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal 3 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module (ECM). |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module (ECM). |
