Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement.
2. If equipped, remove the fuel tank protector. Refer to Fuel Tank Protector Replacement.

Fuel Tank Strap Fastener

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
20 N·m (15  lb ft)

Fuel Tank Strap

Procedure

Move the fuel tank strap down and out of the way.

Fuel Tank Heat Shield Retainer (Qty: 2)

Procedure

Release both the fuel tank heat shield retainers.
