Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the resonator.

    3. Object Number: 2018979 Size: SH
  3. Remove the reinforcement bolts (1).
  4. Loosen the front suspension frame rear bolts from body (2).
  5. Move the reinforcements (3) to obtain the needed access.

    6. Object Number: 2018980 Size: SH
  6. Remove the 8 heat shield fasteners  (1).
  7. Remove the exhaust heat shield (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2018980 Size: SH
  1. Position the exhaust heat shield (2) to the vehicle.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the 8 heat shield fasteners (1) and tighten to 1.5 N·m(13 lb in).
  3. Move the reinforcements (3) back in place.

    4. Object Number: 2018979 Size: SH
  4. Install the reinforcements bolts (1) and tighten the front suspension frame rear bolts (2) to body. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement.
  5. Install the resonator. Refer to Resonator Replacement.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
