Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement L4

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Place drain pans under the vehicle.
  2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.

Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Retainer

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

Install a NEW power steering gear inlet hose O-ring seal and moisture with steering gear fluid, prior to installation of the hose.

Tighten
37.5 N·m (28 lb ft)

Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Clip (Qty: 2)

Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Bracket Bolt

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose

Procedure

  1. Install NEW steering gear oil seals and moisture with steering gear fluid.
  2. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  3. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Place drain pans under the vehicle.
  3. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  5. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.
