    • EN 47839 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation Tool
    • EN 42183 Handle

  1. Place a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant to the oil pan as shown. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.

  2. Object Number: 2026698  Size: SH
  3. Place a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant to the NEW crankshaft rear oil seal housing as shown (1). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.

  4. Object Number: 2026699  Size: SH
  5. Install the EN 47839 installer with the EN 42183 handle (1, 2) onto the rear of the crankshaft flange.
  6. Install the 2 bolts (3).

  7. Object Number: 2026700  Size: SH

    Note: DO NOT allow any engine oil on the area where the crankshaft rear oil seal housing is to be installed.

  8. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (2) to the engine block.
  9. Install the 5 crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts (2).
  10. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1992542  Size: SH
  11. Tighten the 5 crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts in sequence as shown  10 N·m (89 lb in).
  12. Tighten the 2 oil pan bolts  10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Object Number: 2026699  Size: SH
  14. Remove the 2 bolts (3).
  15. Remove the EN 47839 installer and EN 42183 handle  (1, 2) from the crankshaft flange.
