The suspension control module supplies a 5 V reference voltage and a low reference to each wheel acceleration sensor. The wheel acceleration sensors supply a signal of 0.5-4.5 V to the suspension control module.
System voltage is between 9 and 16 V
The signal voltage is less than 0.5 V for 1.5 s
The signal voltage is greater than 4.5 V for 1.5 s
• | The number of signal changes is less than specified value for 2.5 s. |
• | Vehicle speed is greater than 30 km/h (19 MPH) |
• | The electronic suspension control is disabled for the duration of the ignition cycle. |
• | The driver information center displays the SERVICE SUSPENSION SYSTEM message |
• | A present DTC will clear on the next consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycle. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 41 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles. |

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Vertical Wheel Acceleration parameters. The readings should be 0 m/s².
⇒ | If the DTC is set, refer to DTC C0870 to diagnose that DTC prior to this diagnostic. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the low reference circuit for a an open/high resistance. If circuit tests normal, replace the K19 Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) Module. |
⇒ | If not within the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K19 Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) Module. |
⇒ | If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K19 Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) Module. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K19 Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) Module. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K19 Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) Module. |
