Special Tools

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools.

1. Install the DT-49104 protective collar to the intermediate shaft (1), and tap in the intermediate shaft using the DT-49103 fitting drift and a rubber mallet.
2. Remove the DT-49104 protective collar and apply grease to the splines. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for recommended grease.



3. Install the transfer case intermediate shaft retaining ring (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

4. Install the transfer case oil drain plug (1) and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).



5. Remove the transfer case from EN-7874878 holder and 78-74-878 floor stand .
