  3. Verify that B0968 01 or B0968 06 is not present.
  4. If DTC is present, refer to Parking Assist Switch Indicator Malfunction.
  5. Activate and deactivate the parking assist switch and verify the scan tool Park Assist Switch parameter changes between Active and Inactive.

Circuit/System Testing

Parking Assist Switch Malfunction

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the K41 Object Alarm Module.
  2. Test for infinite resistance between the input signal circuit terminal 8 (X3) at the K41 Object Alarm Module harness connector and ground.
  3. If less than the specified range, test input signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the S48D Multifunction Switch - I/P 2.
  4. If all circuits test normal, replace the K41 Object Alarm Module.

Parking Assist Switch Indicator Malfunction

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the K41 Object Alarm Module and the X1 harness connector at the S48D Multifunction Switch - I/P 2.
  2. Test for less than 5 Ω between the S48D Multifunction Switch - I/P 2 ground circuit terminal 2 (X1) and ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, test for less than 0.3 V between the control circuit terminal 3 (X3) at the K41 Object Alarm Module harness connector and ground.
  5. If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage.
  6. Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the control circuit terminal 3 (X3) at the K41 Object Alarm Module harness connector and ground.
  7. If less than the specified range, test control circuit for a short to ground.
  8. Test for less than 5 Ω between the S48D Multifunction Switch - I/P 2 control circuit terminal 6 (X1) and the control circuit terminal 3 (X3) at the K41 Object Alarm Module harness connector
  9. If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance.
  10. If all circuits test normal, connect the X3 harness connector to the K41 Object Alarm Module, replace the S48D Multifunction Switch - I/P 2 and verify the DTC does not reset.
  11. If the DTC resets, replace the K41 Object Alarm Module.
