Preliminary Procedure

Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement.

Differential Splash Shield

Procedure

1. Unhook the hooks from the control module and remove the protective cover from the hydraulic pump.
2. Unclip the harness and remove the electrical connector.

Differential Bushing Fasteners

Procedure

1. Use a column jack as support for the differential clutch and limited slip differential, secure with strap.
2. Remove the bolts for the differential clutch and limited slip differential.
3. Lower the differential clutch and limited slip differential as far as the rubber bushings can be removed, take care that the drive shaft universal joints are not damaged.

Tighten
108 N·m(80 lb ft)

Differential Carrier Bushing

Procedure

1. Fit the tool DT-49126-1 press tool together with the hydraulic press tool.
2. Press out the rubber bushing.
3. For installation fit the rubber bushing in the housing with the bevels and press the bushing into the housing with tool DT-49126-2 press tool and the hydraulic tool.
