Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement Left Hand Drive

Component Name

Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution in the Preface section.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. With the engine OFF, apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
  2. Pull the brake pedal upwards to loosen (unsnap) from the brake arm.
  3. Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, using a suitable suction device.
  4. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement.
  6. Remove the electronic brake control assembly. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement.

Vacuum Check Valve

Tip
If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol can be used as an assembly aid for installing the check valve to the vacuum brake booster grommet. DO NOT use soap.

Power Vacuum Brake Booster Bolt (Qty: 2)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
19 N·m (14 lb ft)

Power Vacuum Brake Booster

Procedure

  1. If equipped, calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration.
  2. Install NEW click fit connector on brake pedal arm, in any case the connection brake pedal to booster pushrod is disconnected.
