Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

Preliminary Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement.
3. Remove the front drive shaft. Refer to LINK.
4. Place a drain pan underneath to collect transmission fluid.

Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal

Procedure

1. Remove drive axle shaft seal ring with DT-49665 tbd and DT-49556 tbd .
2. Coat new axle shaft seal ring with transmission fluid.
3. Install the drive axle shaft seal ring flush into transmission with DT-49541 tbd .
4. Check transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Replacement
