Preliminary Procedure
- Remove the transmission control lever boot. Refer to
Transmission Control Lever Boot Replacement.
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to
Battery Tray Replacement.

| Inner Shift Cable Clamping Assembly (Qty: 2)
Procedure
- Release selector cable from clamping piece.
- Remove the 2 shift cables from the counterhold.
ProcedureOpen clamping piece using a small screwdriver. Open only as far as the notch, opening any further (overstretching) may destroy clamping piece.

| Adjustment Position
Procedure
- Pull reverse gear pawl upwards.
- Compress lugs using pliers until locking block jumps downwards.
- Secure shift lever in neutral position 1st/2nd gear level with locking block at bracket.

| Shift Actuation
Procedure
- Place Transmission in Neutral.
- Pull Shift Actuation Upwards (Arrow).
- Secure shift actuation with
DT-49544 adjuster
, must engage noticeably.
- To remove
DT-49544 adjusting tool
, pull shift actuation slightly upwards (arrow).

| Inner Shift Cable Clamping Assembly (Qty: 2)
Procedure
- Lock selector connection clamping piece by compressing. DO NOT move shift lever.
- Check for easy shifting of gears.
