Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 12694  Size: SH
  1. All electrical connectors at ignition control module.
  2. Note the position of spark plug wires for installation.
  3. Remove the spark plug wires from ignition coils.
  4. Remove the ignition control module assembly from engine.

  5. Object Number: 12299  Size: SH
  6. Remove the screws securing coil assemblies to ignition control module.
  7. Disconnect coils from ignition control module.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12299  Size: SH
  1. Install the coils to the ignition control module.
  2. Install the screws.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4-5 N·m (40 lb. in.).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fasteners securing assembly to the engine.
  5. Tighten
    Fasteners to 8 N·m (70 lb. in.).

  6. Install the spark plug wires as noted during the removal.
  7. Install the electrical connectors to the ignition control module.
