Removal Procedure
- Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Element Replacement
in Engine Controls -
3.4L.
- Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the automatic transaxle
range selector cable from the cable lever and the bracket. Refer to
Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement
.
- Remove the automatic transaxle
range selector cable bracket bolts.
- Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the automatic
transaxle range selector cable bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the automatic
transaxle range selector cable bracket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the automatic transaxle range selector cable bracket bolts to
25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the cable
lever and the bracket. Refer to
Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement
.
- Adjust the automatic transaxle range selector cable. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Adjustment
.
- Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Element Replacement
in Engine Controls -
3.4L.
