Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Chevy

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove both of the front tire and wheels.
  3. • For vehicles with steel wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
    • For Chevrolet and Oldsmobile vehicles with aluminum wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
    • For Pontiac vehicles with aluminum wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  4. Remove the right and left front fender liner. Refer to Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Remove the front park/turn signal/side marker lamp. Refer to Park/Turn Signal/Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lightning Systems.
  6. Remove the push-in retainers from the upper and lower front bumper fascia.
  7. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 314037  Size: SH
  1. Align the front bumper to the front impact bar and to the body.
  2. Install the push-in retainers to the upper and lower front bumper fascia.
  3. Install the front park/turn signal/sidemarker lamp. Refer to Park/Turn Signal/Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  4. Install the right and left front fender liner. Refer to Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Install both of the front tire and wheels.
  6. • For vehicles with steel wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
    • For Chevrolet and Oldsmobile vehicles with aluminum wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
    • For Pontiac vehicles with aluminum wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.

  4. Remove the right and left front fender liner. Refer to Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.

  6. Remove the push-in retainers from the upper and lower front bumper fascia.
  7. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

  7. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

  2. Remove both of the front tire and wheels.

  4. Remove the right and left front fender liner. Refer to Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Remove the front park/turn signal/side marker lamp. Refer to Park/Turn Signal/Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lightning Systems.
  6. Remove the push-in retainers from the upper and lower front bumper fascia.
  7. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Align the front bumper to the front impact bar and to the body.
  2. Install the push-in retainers to the upper and lower front bumper fascia.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the front park/turn signal/sidemarker lamp. Refer to Park/Turn Signal/Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  5. Install the right and left front fender liner. Refer to Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Install both of the front tire and wheels.
  7. • For vehicles with steel wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
    • For Chevrolet and Oldsmobile vehicles with aluminum wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
    • For Pontiac vehicles with aluminum wheels, refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
