EFI Diagnostic Chart 2 shown in the 1982 Phoenix/6000 Service Manual is incorrect Included in this bulletin is the correct version which appears in the separate EFI Diagnostic Manual.
The incorrect information appears in the very first diagnostic block. The second dot should read: Back probe, the white ECM connector pin 20, circuit 419, with a test light connected to 12 volts NOT ground.
All EFI diagnostic charts in the EFI Diagnostic Manual are the most up-to-date version for 1982 model year. These charts should be used if there is a disagreement between charts shown in a Service Manual and EFI Manual.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
