BORG AND GENERAL TIME CLOCKS WARRANTY REPAIR INFORMATION

Pontiac electric clocks are warranted under the "New Vehicle Warranty" for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever first occurs. When a malfunctioning clock is removed during the warranty period, it must be sent to the responsible manufacturer for repair.

Pontiac currently uses clocks from two manufacturers, Borg Instruments and General Time. Obtaining warranty repair for clocks from these manufacturers is covered in this bulletin.

Manufacturer's identification is essential and is either stamped on the housing or printed on a label on the clock housing. If the manufacturer's stamped name cannot be read, darken the letters with a lead pencil. This will enable you to identify the manufacturer.

NOTE: It is important that the following information be attached to all Borg Instruments and General Time clocks returned for repairs. If complete information is not furnished or no defects are found, dealers may be billed for the repair and/or testing. The description of malfunction should be clear and concise as follows:

Clock Dead (No Movement or Sound) If Condition is Intermittent, Give Details Runs Backward Gains Time Loses Time No Light Noisy Blows Fuses Can't Set Time Scratched/Distorted Lens Loose Terminal/Broken Light Socket Hose

The following information must be included:

Dealer Firm Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code Dealer Code R.O. Number and Date Delivery Date (If Sold) Vehicle Identification Number Mileage Owner Name and Address Description of Malfunction

SPECIAL CARE SHOULD BE EXERCISED IN PACKAGING TO PREVENT DAMAGE IN TRANSIT.

Dealer's should ship defective clocks to the responsible manufacturer prepaid. The return of the clock to the dealer may be prepaid by the manufacturer or may be shipped "collect" to the dealer.

Dealer's cost for shipping of clock will be reimbursed by Pontiac through the dealer's submission of a standard warranty claim invoice listing the shipping cost in the sublet column.

A copy of the shipping receipt must be attached to the dealer scrapping copy of the warranty claim invoice.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
