LOOSE LUGGAGE CARRIER NUTS P/N FOR NEW JACK NUTS

Rear deck lid luggage carrier rail nuts may pull out of the deck lid at the rear, outer locations on 1983 and 1984 6000's and 2000 Sunbirds (see illustration). 1983 vehicles used a 5mm screw/nut and 1984 vehicles used a 6mm screw/nut at this location.

To repair this condition, replace the nuts with the new luggage carrier jack nuts, Part Number 14007940, for the 6mm screws and Part Number 1623436 for the 5mm screws.

NOTICE: The holes in the deck lid should have appropriate corrosion protection applied before installing replacement nuts.
