REDUCE THROTTLE PEDAL EFFORT ELIMINATE RETURN SPRING

1985-87 6000 AND 1987 BONNEVILLE MODELS WITH THM 440-T4 (ME9) TRANSAXLES

BULLETIN COVERS:

During 1985 model year production, the spring was removed from the throttle lever and bracket assembly (Figure 1, Item 50) to reduce throttle pedal effort. This change is also on all Service Replacement Transmission Assembly (SRTA) models.

Date Of Production Change: (Refer to Figure 2)

April 1985, throttle valve lever return spring eliminated.

SERVICE ACTION:

Do not install a throttle valve lever return spring on any THM 440-T4 that does not have one. When servicing a THM 440-T4, the spring can be eliminated on any 1985 model to reduce throttle pedal effort.

SERVICE MANUAL REFERENCE:

The 1987 Service Manual will be updated to reflect the change.
