WARRANTY CLAIMS PROCESSING TIPS
The following items are intended to assist in the resolution of certain warranty claims processing problems. If the condition referred to cannot be resolved by addressing it in the manner mentioned, refer to your Warranty and Transportation Claims Preparation Manual (Form 7201-780).
1. LOOSE SHIPPED ITEMS - Occasionally certain loose shipped items, are found to be missing during inspection when the vehicle is received at the dealer from the carrier. When no labor operation exists for those items, the labor operation T0002 should be used on the transportation claim for only those items shipped loose.
2. LABOR TIME GUIDE USAGE - An item generating many dealer claim rejects is the application of the correct model year Labor Time Guide to the model year vehicle. Reject Codes 31 - Labor Operation Missing/Incorrect/Not On File and 33 - Labor Operation Incompatible To Vehicle, cannot be overridden with the 66 dealer self-authorization code. In many of these instances the wrong model year Labor Time Guide was used.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
