PASSENGER SEAT LOWER THAN DRIVERS SEAT
Some 1987-88 "A" cars equipped with 60-40 front seats (option AM6) may have a condition where the passenger seat inboard side may be lower than the driver's inboard side. The passenger seat can be raised by adding a 8mm spacer, P/N 20209169, between the seat bottom frame and the seat adjuster. DO NOT ADD SPACERS BETWEEN FLOOR PAN AND SEAT ADJUSTER.
1. Remove passenger seat (including adjuster) from vehicle and place upside down on clean work surface.
2. Remove inboard adjuster to seat attaching bolts, and install one 8mm spacer between seat bottom and adjuster, at each attaching location.
3. Reinstall seat assembly to floor pan, torque attachments 20-28 Nm (15-21 ft. lbs.)

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
