POLICY ADMINISTRATION CREDIT CYCLE 009

Effective with Credit Cycle 009, dated March 2, 1990, dealers enrolled in the PICS Program will be allowed to authorize any policy adjustment, regardless of the age or mileage of the vehicle. (The previous limit on dealer authorization of policy adjustments was 5 year/50,000 miles.)

As always, any policy claims must be authorized by the proper individual(s) within the dealership and should conform to all the requirements set forth in the Pontiac Service Policies and Procedures Manual, the Warranty and Transportation Claims Preparation Manual and the PICS Dealership Procedures.

This change in policy should assist dealers in eliminating sources of owner dissatisfaction more expediently and allow for more timely claims payment on policy adjustments.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
