J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
  4. Remove the air cleaner cover and intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4 L.
  5. Important: Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting bracket to prevent bending the cable housings.

  6. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables.
  7. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to Transmission Fluid Filler Tube Replacement in Automatic Transaxle.
  8. Disconnect both heater hose quick disconnects from the inlet and outlet pipes.

  10. Disconnect the outlet heater hose (3) from the outlet heater pipe (4) .

  11. Object Number: 819323  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the outlet heater hose clamp using the J 38185 .
  13. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the heater core.
  14. Remove the outlet heater hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the outlet heater hose.

  2. Object Number: 819323  Size: SH
  3. Connect the outlet heater hose to the heater core.
  4. Connect the heater hose clamp using the J 38185 .

  5. Object Number: 395311  Size: SH
  6. Connect the outlet heater hose (3) to the outlet heater pipe (4).
  7. Install the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to Transmission Fluid Filler Tube Replacement in Automatic Transaxle.
  8. Connect the throttle and cruise control cables to the TBI mounting bracket.
  9. Install the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4 L.
  10. Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster.
  11. Install the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  12. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
