The body control module (BCM) door locks ground circuit 550 provides ground for the door lock and unlock relays in the BCM that control the door lock actuators. If the BCM detects an open in this circuit, DTC B1349 is set.
The body control module (BCM) electronics ground circuit 1550 must be connected to ground and the BCM must be in its normal operating state.
The body control module (BCM) detects the door locks ground circuit 550 ground circuit open for greater than 0.375 seconds.
The body control module (BCM) stores DTC B1349 in memory.
• | The body control module (BCM) no longer detects the open circuit. |
• | 100 consecutive ignition cycles have been recorded without the DTC being detected. |
• | If the body control module (BCM) door locks ground circuit 550 is open from the center console fuse block connector C2, DTC B1349 will not set. The BCM takes a redundant path to ground through another ground circuit in the center console fuse block. |
• | The BCM is mounted directly on top of the center console fuse block and is connected to the fuse block through BCM connector C3. If during the replacement of the BCM the C3 connector is not fully seated in the center console fuse block, DTC B1349 may set. If the fault occurred after BCM replacement, DTC B1349 may be set with DTC B1354. |
• | Check the BCM mounting to the center console fuse block. The BCM connector C3 may have come loose from the fuse block. |
• | If DTC B1349 is a history DTC, the fault may be intermittent. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems. |
• | The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction to occur: |
- | An internal intermittent open in the BCM. |
- | An intermittent open in the connection of the BCM to the center console fuse block. |
