The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Some customers or dealers may report a red OnStar LED and that they are unable to connect to the OnStar call center after the BCM was replaced. Furthermore, the Tech2 may not communicate with the VIU or VCIM.

A Set up new OnStar will need to be completed after the new BCM is replaced and programmed. The Tech2 will need to be put into bypass mode to allow the technician to enter the special function menu and complete the required Set up procedure.

Please follow this diagnosis process throughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
