Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the automatic door locks inoperative fault is present.

Do the automatic door locks operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the current automatic door lock mode in Personalization.

Is the correct automatic door lock mode selected?

Do the power door locks operate normally?

Go to Step 5

  1. Close all of the doors.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the driver door open, the Passenger Door Open and Rear Door Open Switch parameters in the body control module (BCM) data list.

Does the scan tool display Closed for the driver or passenger door open switches, or Inactive for the rear door open switch?

Go to Step 7

Test the secondary door latch switch signal circuit of the appropriate door lock harness connector for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door lock. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.

Replace the appropriate door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement or Rear Door Lock Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
